• Open letter from the BSÖ to the Bar Association and the Supreme Court - on January 2nd it was reported in some media (see Standard item) about a Judgment of the Supreme Court reported in which a lawyer's appeal against a disciplinary sanction by Wr. Bar association was not approved. The disciplinary sanction concerned the lawyer's public display of sex with a sex worker as part of an ATV program. This damages the reputation and honor of the profession.

  • There was one in the New York Times Opinion Piece “What It Means to Call Prostitution “Sex Work”” by Pamela Paul about the terms “prostitution” vs. “sex work” was published, a critical letter to the editor from the Sex Worker Advocates Coalition (SWAC) of DC, USA was not published. Instead, only letters to the editor who were either in favor of the Nordic model or, like the author, against the term “sex work” were accepted. The unpublished letter to the editor was signed by countless sex work organizations - including the BSÖ - and is here to read.

    • Call for participation in a study on working conditions in sex work in Austria - €50 compensation. information on German and English
    • Terre des Femmes Austria and the SPÖ Döbling invite you to the event on December 11th Event “Crime Scene Prostitution” one, the registration of the BSÖ was rejected because critical voices against a ban on purchasing sex or the Swedish model are apparently not wanted and sex workers are systematically excluded from participation. Once again people like to talk about but not with us. In principle, the SPÖ is against introducing the Swedish model, but there are a few very loud voices within the party.
